The research was conducted in a descriptive and cross-sectional manner in order to determine the professional values and ethical sensibilities of nurses working in the operating room. The sample of the study consisted of 157 nurses working in the operating rooms of seven hospitals in Adana Province and agreeing to participate in the study. The data were collected between February and April 2020 using the Introductory Form, Professional Values and Moral Sensitivity Scale Mean, standard deviation, Mann Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis, Spearman correlation tests were used to evaluate the data. In the study, it was determined that 45.9% of the nurses were in the 36-45 age group, 83.4% were female, 63.7% had a bachelor's degree, 68.2% had worked at a state hospital, and 19.1% had worked for 16-20 years. The mean scores of the operating room nurses on ethical sensitivity (80.88 ± 23.32) and professional values (125.87±18.42) were found at a good level. The orientation (10.02±4.56) and holistic approach (11.74±4.14) sub-dimensions of ethical sensitivity were determined to be high. A significant difference (p <0.05) was determined in the autonomy and conflict sub-dimensions of those who received in-service and orientation training on ethics in the age group 36-45 in ethical sensitivity. Ethical sensitivity and professional values increase as the age and working years increase; It was determined that voluntary election did not affect educational status, gender, marital status, the unit and profession (p> 0.05). A weak negative correlation was found between operating room nurses' ethical sensibilities and professional values. In the study, it was determined that the professional values and ethical sensitivity of operating room nurses were at a good level. It can be suggested that strengthening the pre-graduate education programs in recognizing the ethical problems of nurses and providing solutions, and carrying out postgraduate continuing education programs considering the age groups and the experience period would be beneficial in increasing the professional values and quality of care.
