Abnormal scarring causes functional and cosmetic deformities, discomfort, and psychological stress. To date, there is unfortunately no treatment method to prevent scar formation completely. However, prevention of abnormal scar formation should always be the priority following a burn, surgery or trauma. Combination of therapies is the mainstay of current scar prevention strategy, including tension relief, hydration/taping/occlusion, and pressure garments. In this section, we will discuss all methods used for scar prevention. © 2019 by Nova Science Publishers, Inc.en_US
